There's absolutely no doubt that the definition, purpose, results, organization, and existance of the International Brotherhood of the Royal and Ancient (mainly ancient) Order of HF3 is the direct result of Hutch. After dozens of "One of these days we need to ...." that followed all reunions or chance meetings, it was Hutch who was the catalyst that finally made it all become real. Hutch invited five of us schoolmates who had hunted with him through the years back in our schooldays to share with him an annual dove hunt he'd been attending for several years.
From that first hunt, the laughter, shared memories, sense of comardery, and recognition that after 40 years we still had a common bond in hunting, fishing, football, and fun it was decided that this was something that we needed to do every year and that we should extend the invitation to all those classmates that shared those activities. Thus began HF3. From from five initial members and one probationary one (it's a long story) to 20+ members and after going into our 6th consecutive year, it appears that Hutch's reasons for starting it all were valid and shared by many.
For all the above, we are forever indebted to Hutch for being a catalyst for the Brotherhood. Without him, I fear we'd still be saying "One of these days we need to ...."
