The No Cruising Zone
Jim Stanton's New Addition

Well, this is it! I bought it Waxahachie and I am trying to completely restore it. It is registered and very drivable, and I do a lot. Just trying to get all the little things done.
It is not a "hard top" but is a rare model 210 4 door and all original with 119,000 miles on it. I plan to drive it to our October get together. Skip and
I was always cruising in town, to Frost or Dallas. Back then I had a ' 55 Ford and we had a lot of fun in it. My Father owned the gas station next to
the Dairy Queen, so we had plenty of gas most of the time.
I'll save the stories for later. I'm a regular "Tom T. Hall" when it comes "tall tells"

The "Commish"
Does It Again !!

 Congratulations Ron !!!!

Endorsement by the Waxahachie Daily Light

In the Republican Primary for Ellis County commissioner, Precinct 4, we endorse incumbent Ron Brown.

COMMISSIONER Ron Brown has served Ellis County honorably during his tenure on the Ellis County Commissioners Court, often standing out as the lone conservative voice on votes concerning major expenditures and tax issues.
He has stood steadfast on the principal of holding the line on county taxes, while working diligently to find efficient, cost-effective solutions to the county’s needs.
Brown has shown vision, proposing many ideas that would advance a rapidly growing county. Some of his recent proposals on office space use and refinancing debt to take advantage of today’s lower interest rate, should they reach fruition with court approval, will save the county millions of dollars, if not generate additional revenue that could be used to off-set the tax rate.
We also applaud Brown’s proposal to create a county homestead tax exemption system that would provide a permanent break on county taxes for our senior citizens. The proposal, based on similar exemptions already established by school districts, would provide a much needed benefit to those who needed it most — primarily our elderly residents living on a fixed income.
We agree with Brown, this is a do-able plan. It can be achieved by managing our resources wisely, while still expanding county services required to meet the needs of a growing population.
WHEN IT comes to a conservative voice on the court, Ron Brown has a proven track record and his votes speak for themselves.
He also has the vision to move Ellis County forward.
For the Republican nomination for Ellis County commissioner Precinct 4, we endorse incumbent Ron Brown.

Voters re-elect Brown
By ROB WILLIAMS
Daily Light staff writer

Ellis County Commissioner Pct.
4 Ron Brown retained his office for a fourth term Tuesday night, defeating his opponent Marlena Pendley by a vote of 1,791 to 526.
This was the first political race for Pendley, an investigator with the Ellis County and District Attorney’s Office.
There is no Democratic candidate running in the November general election for the Precinct 4 office, which handles much of the rural Midlothian and northwest Ellis County area.
“I think the key to my campaign was listening to the peopleand working for the people in my precinct,” Brown said.
Brown, recognized as a fiscally conservative voice on the commissioners court, said his plans for the future include working on keeping taxes low for the citizens of Ellis County.
He also intends to develop a plan to provide a homestead exemption for senior citizens.
“I think the campaign went very well,” Brown said. “It was a good, clean campaign for both parties.”

Brown expressed his appreciation to his supporters.
“I want to thank everyone who voted for me and those who helped me with the campaign,” he said. “They worked very hard and were very dedicated. I don't think we would have done it without them.”
