Music?
It's hard to narrow it down, especially with these memory banks, but here goes:
1. Hound Dog; Elvis; has to be; it changed everything;
2. Big Boss Man; Jimmy Reed; Steve Fincher was NUTS about Jimmy Reed; the beat is still infectious;
3. Crying; Roy Orbison; plus the rest of his songs; who's better?
4. Love Letters in the Sand; Pat Boone; maybe a surprise, but one of my all time favorites;
5. Memphis; Chuck Berry; so good it is a solid rock and roll standard;
6. You Send Me; Sam Cooke; great song, great singer;
7. My Prayer; The Platters; one of the greatest lead singers ever;
8. Tequila: The Champs; who can ever forget this song?
9. Last Date: Floyd Kramer; started an entirely new style of piano playing; great dance song;
10. Roll Over Beethoven; Chuck Berry; 'nuff sed; burn down the house;
By the way, did I ever share my Jimmy Reed story? Remember, a bunch of the seniors on graduation night went to Louanne's in Dallas and saw Jimmy Reed. About 10-12 years ago, I again saw him at a club in Austin. I went up to him at a break and asked if he remembered Louanne's. He thought for a minute, then said, "Yeah, a lot of white kids there." Then I told him how the Waxahachie senior class had seen him back in 1962. He was quite appreciative of the memories. He died not long after that.

... maybe you shouldn't have told him... and he'd still be alive...
